To celebrate The White Strawberries Podcast, I’m giving away two boxes of my favorite unique root crops!
This podcast was created to share a love for growing and eating food you won’t find in supermarkets. These are plants that are nutrient-dense, support soil health, and bring a little joy to your garden and plate.
Each giveaway box includes a mix of these three fantastic root crops, all of which are edible, unique, and ready to be planted soon in Aotearoa, New Zealand:
- Sunchokes: Also known as Jerusalem artichokes, this perennial sunflower has crunchy roots.
- Yams: A pink/red Oca variety that becomes sweet and delicious when roasted.
- Yacon: A sweet, juicy daisy-root that tastes like a pear when eaten raw.
