Committed to a Chemical-Free Future in the Kiwi Capital!
You know the drill—those persistent little weeds never stop! Today, our team headed down to the Te Puke Community Garden to take on the latest growth along the edges of our valuable vege bins.
This wasn’t just a tidy-up; it was a firm step toward our core mission: to be the greenest community growers in Te Puke. That means committing to a future that is completely glyphosate-free. We believe in nurturing our soil, supporting local biodiversity, and providing a healthy, safe space for our community to grow their kai—all without resorting to chemical sprays.
We mobilised our quiet, clean battery-powered tools (a trusty weedeater and mower) and got stuck into the work. The tools were humming, the bins were looking tidier by the minute… then the famous Bay of Plenty weather decided to give us a proper drenching! We got rained off and soaked right through, proving that dedicated local growing often involves getting a little muddy (or a lot wet!).
It’s all part of the passion! We’re proud to be getting behind local growing initiatives that prioritise sustainability and community resilience.
Keep an eye on our progress—we’re just getting started!
