We’ve got some really exciting news to share with all of you!

Next week, we’re thrilled to be hosting Sam from the popular White Strawberries podcast right here at Troppo’s Tropical Urban Food Forest. It’s not every day we get to welcome someone whose mission aligns so perfectly with our own. Sam is a passionate permaculture gardener, educator, and a true explorer on a mission to share the joy of growing and living well with the land.

We’re big fans of her approach—making gardening and sustainability feel joyful and accessible. It’s a sentiment that echoes through every corner of our food forest. Sam’s podcast explores how to garden with purpose, curiosity, and fun, all while highlighting the importance of eating a diversity of life-giving foods. This is exactly what we strive for here at Troppo’s with our mission to create a thriving, resilient ecosystem right in Te Puke.

Sam will be sitting down with our founder, Stephen Fawcett, to record a special podcast episode. We can’t wait for her to share the story of how Troppo’s was transformed from an ordinary blank urban space into a diverse urban food forest. It’s an incredible opportunity to talk about the principles of syntropic agroforestry, permaculture and experimenting with the power of community, and our collective journey towards food resilience and abundance.

Keep an eye on Sam’s podcast feed to catch the episode once it’s released. We know you’ll learn something, and we can’t wait for you to hear our story through her lens.
